life is good. yeah... came back from acid camp 2006 (annual camp for the intellecuatlly disabled) yesterday.. was a GL!! ha.. nothing big.. except i get to not take part in the games.. but it was fun interacting with trainees and volunteers from other projects which was there..(guilimard camp, east point, reach out, west end, TH,ang mo kio and yio chu kang, rspid) ..
anyway there was mock campfire, boring games, mass bbq, enthu gls, screaming trainees, naughty mandy, sleepless sherra , tons of handicrafts and pretty much amount of self amusing from me..ha.
it was pretty different from last yr, where my attention was mostly on mandy, this year i got a load off with help from shini, beatrice and qiuyun. can say whether its was for better or for worse, i believe was a whole new experience. and i am grateful too. for at the end of the camp, i got a ride home from a fellow vol.ha.. was lucky. i am counting my blessings.. everyone should!, that we all can communicate freely with our love ones, climb up and down agility, take care of our parents as we age with them and be independent in our daily routines. its sad tat the some of trainees are unable to communicate their thoughts to us.despite wat a terror they are sometimes, once in a while , a smile from one can melt a thousand hearts like nothing ever b4...
last night watched tv, there was a family with three kids who did volunteering ever so regularly that the kids simply felt that they should do their part for the lonely elderly they visit so often. its the little things pple do that make a difference, not the money we make, not the postion in the company, not the grades u get .. the best stuff on earth cant be bought, but can only be given from the heart
i look forward to acid 07 next year.
